This trip was on July 28, 2012 and actually was a bit choppy. Once we reached the point of Cape Cod just off Provincetown, there were numerous clusters of activity.
This trip was on Capt Johns Whale Watch out of Plymouth, MA. I believe all of the whales we saw that day were humpbacks. difficult to id the birds from this distance but I believe they are Greater Shearwaters.

Jumping away from Stellwagen, these are a couple of Finbacks just off Tadoussac Quebec. This is the Gulf of St Lawrence just at the mouth of the Saguenay River.
