Herring Brook at Misty Meadows

Recent trail improvements at the adjoining Misty Meadows Conservation area provides access to this scenic outlook onto Herring Brook.   An entrance to the Misty Meadows trail system can be made from the Mary & Harry Todd trial on the other side of Pudding Brook.

Ghost Pipe (Monotropa uniflora)
Often mistaken as fungi, the Ghost Pipes is a herbaceous, parasitic plant. It is found across the temperate regions of North America.
The Star flower is a common woodland plant found throughout New England.

Glooscap is one of the mythical deities of the Mik'maq First Nations tribe.

Enraged by his enemy the beaver, Glooscap threw giant handfuls of sod at it. Each of these sods is now one of the Five Islands islands in the Minas Basis.
