Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church Christmas Fire
This video is a digitized version of a slide show presentation made back in the aftermath of the 1986 Saint Andrew’s Christmas fire. It was originally prepared for a church fund raising event at the Ridder Country Club using two slide projectors that blended alternate photos that were then manually timed with an audio cassette that had accompanying music.Now fast forward forty years and with the help of Janet Keane, the two original slide carousels were located. All of the slides were then digitized and reassembled into something very similar to the original presentation back in 1987. Note the digitized caption slides which were simply photographs of Wang Word Processor documents (for those of you who remember what a word processor was). The original audio cassette was lost so the music is certainly different.Also, there have been some new photos added from various sources including a separate slide carousel found in the records room. Best I can tell, all of the wonderful slides in this carousel that documented the rebuild were taken by Edith & Everett Ridley.
